QMusic is overseen by an elected management committee. The QMusic management committee works cohesively and leads a thriving organisation by balancing a broad artistic vision with strong financial and management acumen. The diversity, stability and leadership demonstrated by the management committee are key strengths of QMusic. 

QMusic’s Management Committee is composed of 13 members, seven of which are music industry professionals, with the other six members bringing a range of commercial skill-sets and experience deemed critical to the strategic growth of the organisation. It has First Nations representatives who ensures that QMusic and its brands including BIGSOUND remain Indigenous-led.

Scott Hutchinson

Scott is Chairman of Hutchinsons Builders, Queensland’s largest privately owned building company. Hutchies, as it is affectionately termed by staff and industry, is a family company which has been known and respected within the State’s building scene for four generations. Hutchinson Builders celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2012 – representing a century of service to Queensland and Australia and testament to the company’s commitment, expertise and integrity. From its beginning as a one man operation in 1912, J Hutchinson Pty Ltd has expanded and strengthened and, today, stands as one of Australia’s major award winning construction companies. Scott is also an avid music lover and holds the sites of The Triffid and Fortitude Hall, breaking the cycle of developers turning inner city land into residential or office uses.

Natalie Strijland — President 

Natalie is a lawyer and director of New Farm law firm NR Barbi Solicitor Pty Ltd. She has been part of the Brisbane legal scene since 1997, working in various areas including Arts Law, Civil and Commercial Litigation and Building and Construction Litigation. As a director, she heads the litigation team within her firm which is a general practice firm. She enjoys all aspects of the Arts and is passionate about the fostering of new Australian talent. She is an avid cricket fan, enjoys theatre and travelling and all genres of music. Natalie joined the QMusic management committee in January 2016.

D-J Wendt — Vice President

D-J is a promoter, tour producer, live performance producer and manager. He is the owner of Dmand Pty Ltd, a company that specialises in producing and promoting concert tours and theatrical productions in Australia, Europe and The United States for theatre and arena productions. He is also the owner and executive producer for Frog in a Sock Pty Ltd and Tenorissimo USA LLC which produce live concerts, TV specials, DVD's and albums for The TEN Tenors. In his spare time he enjoys all forms of sport and hanging out with his family. D-J joined the QMusic management committee in April 2014.

Sarah Crook — Treasurer  

Sarah Crook is a registered BAS Agent and Bookkeeper with over 15 years experience in the Australian Music Industry. Sarah has a certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Bachelor of Business Management from QUT.

Sarah knew from an early age that she wanted to work in the music industry, and started volunteering at QMusic where she gained a wealth of experience and connections. She then moved on to work at Secret Service Artist Management and Dew Process. She now runs her own firm and works with artists such as The Jungle Giants, Confidence Man, Tia Gostelow, Busby Marou and Lawrence English. 

Tina Radburn — Secretary

Tina has extensive government and business development experience having worked across multiple government departments and industries with high-level government officials and executives for over 25 years. This includes 14 years of international business development experience in the Americas, including the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Tina has worked extensively with the music and creative industries to deliver Queensland’s Creative Industries Export Strategy and Queensland’s Contemporary Music Export Program in North America - a collaboration between Trade Queensland, Arts Queensland and QMusic. She is passionate about music and the arts, international development, philanthropy, and the community, and has worked with many non-profits and development agencies.

Tina initially joined the QMusic Management Committee in April 2016 and served as Secretary until September 2020, before returning to the position in June 2021. and chaired the Queensland Poetry Festival in 2015-2016.

Roz Pappalardo — Ordinary Member

Roz has been a constant in the Australian music industry for approximately 20 years, as musician , (one half of women in docs, independent original and international touring act, and as a solo artists) as well as presenter, programmer and producer based in regional Queensland, currently heading up Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns Civic Theatre and Cairns Festival as Program Manager. She is heavily involved in consulting on artist pathways for many regional Queensland artists, including indigenous group and choir, Sounds of Austranesia (Cairns and Torres Strait Island based). She is also currently touring as one of the songwriters in the Soldiers Wife project which has seen Queensland songwriters work artistically with women who've lost their partners in war. Roz has also worked heavily in community arts and development projects with remote Indigenous communities in Northern Territory and Queensland. She is extremely happy to be once again sitting on the board of QMusic, excited to be part of the next chapter of this organisation's growth and development across Queensland. Roz joined the QMusic management committee in April 2014.

John Mullen — Ordinary Member 

John is Head of A&R and Executive Producer at Dew Process Recordings and has worked with such artists as Sarah Blasko, The Grates, Bernard Fanning, Tkay Maidza, Eves the Behaviour, Mallrat and more. John joined the QMusic management committee in July 2017.

Vivienne Mellish — Ordinary Member

Viv Mellish is a founding partner and Director at independent, Queensland-based music distribution companies, GYROstream and DistroDirect. Viv oversees GYROstream and DistroDirect's global marketing and A&R strategy as well as the wider artist promotions team across DSPs, PR and Digital Marketing. Viv has previously held PR and marketing roles in a range of sectors including music, the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, politics, theatre and film.

John Collins (JC) — Ordinary Member

After spending 20 years touring and recording with Brisbane band Powderfinger, JC has turned his focus to the world of live music venues. His first step was opening the Triffid in Brisbane in 2014, filling a huge void in the Brisbane music scene. This venue has since gone on to win countless awards and has become an industry and crowd favourite. JC and team then combined forces with music industry power brokers, Secret Sounds and Live Nation, to present Brisbane’s latest music live venue, The Fortitude Music Hall. This state-of-the-art and beautifully appointed venue is located in the vibrant Brunswick Street Mall – long considered the heart of the Brisbane music scene. As Venue Director, JC was instrumental in the design, fit-out and delivery of the project. It quickly gained a great reputation for pleasing artists and patrons alike. It is recognised as a world-class venue. JC also proudly sits on Board of the forward-thinking Music Industry College and revels in the opportunity to help students who share a passion for the industry.

Jacqui Grinzi — Ordinary Member

Jacqui Grinzi has been in the business of strengthening bottom lines and audiences for businesses in both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors for 20 years. Through coaching, mentorship, and hands-on development of sales and relationship frameworks, Jacqui informs and guides leaders of their full potential and untapped opportunities. Jacqui has led corporate growth strategies, managed regulatory compliance, and worked with the Queensland Government and local Councils on corporate and community initiatives. 

Jacqui is the Founder of Brave Brand Consulting where she focuses on building strategic partnerships, managing key projects and refining operational efficiencies for businesses in the creative, music and associated industries. Jacqui joined the QMusic management committee in June 2021 and is a keen contributor to expanding the Queensland music industry as a safe, diverse, and inclusive community.

Aaron Dahl — Ordinary Member

Aaron is a lawyer and partner of law firm McCullough Robertson. He has over 15 years' experience working in corporate, commercial and not-for-profit law. He leads McCullough Robertson's not-for-profit and charity practice and, in that capacity, works with some of Queensland's largest charities and not-for-profit entities particularly in relation to merger advice, governance, compliance and general commercial matters. Aaron is passionate about contemporary and live music, as well as the general arts. He is a former board member of Board Connect Limited, a not-for-profit company that assisted many of Queensland's arts organisations through education and governance advice. Aaron joined this management committee in June 2021. 

Hayley Johnson — Ordinary Member

AMusA; LTCL; BA(mus); BA(mus.theatre-WAAPA); MAICD.

Hayley has enjoyed a varied career as a musical theatre/cabaret performer, teacher, musical director and producer - in Australia and the USA. Combining her family background in business with her career contacts, she initiated the involvement of The BMD Group and Power Arts, as major sponsors, investors and co-producers for theatrical pursuits. Power Arts has evolved into an investment and production organisation, focussed on supporting promising new talents and exciting performing arts projects. They have been proudly associated with several award-winning organisations including QPAC, The Gordon Frost Organisation, The Michael Cassell Group, Opera Australia, The Hayes Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, The Queensland Ballet, Australian Dance Collective, La Boîte, The Brisbane Festival and Zen Zen Zo. 

Hayley sits on the Board of the Brisbane Powerhouse, where she has enhanced corporate relationships including BMD’s major sponsorship of the children’s program, Power Kids. She’s also recently joined the Board for the charity for children with rare diseases, Jack’s Butterflies, and continues to juggle her work for the Power family, Power Arts, and BMD on a regular basis.

Cameron Costello — Ordinary Member

Cameron is a Quandamooka man from Moreton Bay off the coast of Brisbane in South East Queensland. Cameron is a law graduate from the University of Queensland and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure Management. He has worked previously in the legal industry and for more than 15 years in local and state governments delivering Indigenous policies and programs including the Backing Indigenous Arts Program and the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair. 

Cameron was formerly the CEO for the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation – the Native Title Body and cultural heritage body for Moreton Bay including Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) that jointly manages the Naree Budjong Djarra (My Mother Earth) National Park, runs Quandamooka Coast Tourism experiences and the Quandamooka Festival. He is Chair of the QTIC Indigenous Working Group, member of the Queensland Koala Advisory Council, member of the Healthy Land & Water Indigenous Advisory Committee and a member of the Arts Queensland First Nations Arts and Cultural Panel.

Thelma Plum — Ordinary Member

A Gamilaraay woman, musician and creator who was born in Brisbane, she's incredibly passionate about seeing the Queensland music industry thrive. With incredible strength, courage and heartbreaking tenderness, her debut album 'Better In Blak' captures so deftly what it’s like to be a young Aboriginal woman in Australia. The album became one of the most successful albums of 2019, nominated for seven ARIAs and spawning three Platinum and one Gold singles. 

We're very fortunate to have someone with Thelma's knowledge and lived artist experience helping to steer the direction of QMusic's future. 

QMUSIC acknowledges the many Traditional Custodian groups all across what is now referred to as Queensland. We pay our respect to all elders: past, present and emerging. As a peak body we also acknowledge the important role that music has played and continues to play on these lands since the very first sunrise.
